JORGE RODRIGUEZ CANO
Pintura, dibujo, grabado e instalación
Jorge Rodriguez-Cano C. nace el 22 de Febrero de 1988 en México D.F. Desde muy temprana edad comienza a mostrar habilidades artísticas, a los 8 años participa en el concurso “ Pinturas Infantiles” como pintor infantil de la ciudad de México en intercambio con las ciudades de Seúl, Nagoya, Chicago y Los Ángeles. A la edad de 12 años comienza sus estudios en pintura, dibujo y grabado con las maestras Laura Reich y Mercedes Arellano. A los 16 años fue alumno en pintura y dibujo con Eugenia Orozco, posteriormente estudió pintura al óleo con Mariló Carral y permaneció perfeccionando su conocimiento autodidactamente tanto teórico como técnico por mas de 2 años con la guía de Mariló Carral, Mario Palacios y Guillermo Pacheco. Después de haber realizado su primera exposición individual retoma el grabado en el taller “La Osamenta” con Dana Arenlund y Miguel Zuñiga. Al mismo tiempo que experimenta nuevamente esta técnica, llega a San Miguel De Allende para aprender sobre preparación artesanal de papel a partir de fibras naturales con Mónica Ramirez Valerio y preparación de materiales con Gerardo Ruiz. Trabajando en el taller “la Osamenta “ con Dana Arenlund y formó parte de la Galería Nakatani en la Ciudad de México hasta hace un año, actualmente trabaja en su Estudio en la San Rafael "Workshop Diecisiete" con la tutoría y crítica del galerista Luis Adelantado, los proyectos que está realizando hoy en día son en su mayoría piezas de materiales y medios mixtos . Su trabajo retrata temáticas emocionales y psicológicas que escarban en la humanidad através de vivencias personales u observaciones de comportamientos ajenos e historicos.

Jorge Rodriguez-Cano C. was born in Mexico City on February 22, 1988. Since an early age, he proved to have artistic skills. At the age of eight, he took part in the “Pinturas infantiles” contest as a child painter from Mexico City where he exchanged artwork with Seoul, Nagoya, Chicago and Los Angeles. When he was twelve-years-old, he started studying painting, drawing and engraving with Laura Reich and Mercedes Arellano. At sixteen, he was Eugenia Orozco’s student of painting and drawing and afterwards, he studied oil painting with Mariló Carral. With the help of Mariló Carral, Mario Palacios, and Guillermo Pacheco, he perfected his self-taught knowledge in both theoretical and technical matters during two years. After having launched his first exhibition, he returned to “La Osamenta” workshop which is carried out by Dana Arenlund and Miguel Zuñiga. While experiencing with this technique again, he spent some time at San Miguel de Allende where he learnt how to make artisanal paper from natural fibers with Mónica Ramirez Valerio and how to prepare materials with Gerardo Ruiz. , he also worked at “La Osamenta” workshop with Dana Arenlund, and was part of the Nakatani Gallery in mexico city in these days he is courrently working in his own studio at San Rafael Neighborhood "Workshop Diecisiete" and works under the critique and advice of the galerist Luis Adelanatado, he is carrying out projects which are mainly mixed media and alternative materials. His present day work speaks about deep psycologic and emotional observation of himself, others and historical events.
